This private optician’s store in Vaasa, Finland, is as personal as the glasses they sell. Two flooring designs from our Amtico Signature collection were selected to create a distinctive and practical retail space.
The front desk features Ratley Stone AR0SMA37 from the Amtico Signature collection, installed in a Uniform Tile pattern.
The flooring visually divides the open-plan space, separating the entrance area and reception desk from the rear section, where the eyewear displays are located. At the front of the store, the fresh and airy tones of Ratley Stone from the Amtico Signature collection harmonise perfectly with the marble reception desk, creating a sense of grounded balance within the space. The distinctive veining of each tile adds character and visual interest to the design.

Manor Oak features a lightly limed grain and cooler brown base colour, installed in a herringbone plank layout with Polished Gold Stripping to add definition and contrast throughout the design.

In the rear section, Amtico Signature Manor Oak has been installed in a Herringbone pattern. Featuring a subtly limed grain and cool brown base tones, the flooring complements the wooden furniture beautifully.
The addition of Polished Gold stripping introduces a touch of luxury while blending seamlessly with the light interior concept and other golden accents throughout the store. With their thoughtful design approach, Teatterin Optiikka has created a space where customers feel warmly welcomed.
Laying Pattern Highlights
Herringbone Plank
As demonstrated in this project, a simple laying pattern such as Herringbone can be transformed into a true eye-catcher with Amtico’s elegant stripping option. Planks measuring 114.3 × 914.4mm have been installed at a striking angle, enhanced with 6.4 mm Polished Gold stripping between each plank. This detail adds a touch of luxury to the design and complements the other golden accents throughout the store concept
Uniform Tile
Uniform Tile is a classic laying pattern that works well in a wide range of spaces. It creates a clean, elegant look in any commercial environment, particularly when used with the large format 914.4 × 914.4mm tile. Ratley Stone’s subtle textures are beautifully showcased in this installation.
