The Story Behind Amtico’s Bespoke Bone Design
What began as a good-humoured joke for dog lovers soon became a chance to explore bespoke Amtico flooring in a whole new way. This is the story behind the bone floor, from social media idea to design showcase.

Where It All Began
Some flooring design ideas start with a moodboard. Others start with an April Fool’s post. And, in this case, a very British love of dogs.
Earlier this year, we shared a playful AI-generated concept on social media, imagining a wood-effect LVT floor scattered with bone-shaped details. The fictional Pawfect™ Collection included tongue-in-cheek laying patterns such as Herring-bone, Board-Walkies and Small Pawquet, giving pet-friendly flooring a twist that pet lovers instantly understood.
It was created as a light-hearted prank, but the response was far bigger than expected. With so much engagement and love for the idea, the team decided to take it one step further and create a physical version of the design.

Bringing the Bone Floor to Life
The finished result is a playful piece of bespoke flooring, using a custom bone pattern to add personality to a natural oak-inspired base. It was designed and manufactured by our team in Coventry, showing the skill and detail behind Amtico’s LVT capabilities.
To achieve the look, the team used two colours from the Amtico Signature collection: French Oak AR0W7830 and Blonde Oak AR0W7460. As Signature is the only collection used for bespoke LVT designs, its hundreds of colours and designs give the team huge creative scope, making the possibilities almost endless.
The bone floor became a chance to showcase British design, in-house expertise and the detail involved in creating custom LVT flooring.
Custom Patterns with a Practical Side
While this particular concept has plenty of character, it also serves as a reminder of how much design freedom luxury vinyl tiles can offer. From patterned flooring to one-off details for homes, hospitality and commercial spaces, Amtico offers plenty of room for individuality.
For four-legged family life, Amtico also brings the everyday benefits people expect from pet-friendly flooring. It is hardwearing, easy to care for and made with real life in mind, from muddy paws to everyday spills.
So, what started as an April Fool’s post has become a brilliant example of how imagination, British manufacturing and Amtico can come together. Although if the dogs had their way, we suspect a few bones underfoot would become a permanent feature.
