Inside @thefelicitoushome Modern Country Living Room
Felicity, known on Instagram as @thefelicitoushome, wanted to replace her living room carpet with a floor that suited the relaxed, characterful feel of her home and complemented the Amtico flooring already in her hallway and kitchen. Spacia Muted Oak in Large Parquet brought those aims together, providing a cohesive foundation for her influencer home interior.

Giving a New Build Its Own Identity
For anyone gathering home interior design ideas, carefully chosen finishes can make a new build feel personal from the outset. In Felicity’s living room, traditional touches sit alongside clean, contemporary styling to create a layered yet balanced scheme.
Why Spacia Muted Oak Stood Out
Muted Oak’s soft, neutral grain and sandy undertones add subtle visual depth. Having used parquet flooring in a previous home, Felicity knew she wanted to incorporate it again. Her choice also highlights how scale can shape a parquet flooring design. Every wood product in the Amtico Spacia collection is available in Small and Large Parquet, allowing homeowners to choose between a finer, more detailed pattern and the broader proportions Felicity selected.

One Floor, Connected Spaces
With the product and format chosen, attention turned to the wider downstairs layout. For anyone wondering how to make flooring flow from hallway to living room, Felicity’s project shows the value of considering adjoining spaces together and coordinating the tones and transitions between new and existing flooring. This creates the effect of continuous flooring, softening visual breaks and giving the overall layout a more unified feel.
Practicality for a Busy Household
Alongside Amtico’s quality and design range, day-to-day performance mattered when creating Felicity’s parquet flooring living room. Replacing carpet with Spacia LVT parquet flooring achieved the premium wood appearance she wanted, while the warranty provided reassurance.

From Samples to Installation
After ordering samples from Amtico, Felicity visited Amtico One retailer Floored by Ian in St Neots to discuss how the new floor would work with the existing installation. The team later fitted it in her home.
The finished room now complements the wider home interior, offering parquet flooring inspiration for practical family living.
I’ve always loved a modern country aesthetic, and the warm tones of the flooring really helped bring that vision to life. This time, I opted for a larger parquet pattern as it offers a more modern take on a classic, timeless style, perfect for blending tradition with a contemporary home.
One of my favourite things is how the flooring enhances the flow from the hallway into the adjoining rooms; it feels seamless and intentional. It’s also incredibly practical, being easy to clean, hard-wearing, and durable, perfect for our busy household with children and pets.
The whole experience was excellent from start to finish. The final result blends perfectly, and the process felt smooth and well-supported throughout.
